Woodworking Gallery

Take a look at some of my most recent projects.
Hexagonal Dice Tray

The hexagonal dice tray is a classic staple for gamers, and I tried to take my own spin on it.  I constructed these from 1/2" black walnut stock, using 1/2" birch plywood for the base.  The joinery is a simply butt joint, but I dressed it up and reinforced it considerably using ebony splines.  This is my personal dice tray, so I went all out and included a magnetized lid and a multi-part graphic.  The entire tray is finished with a satin lacquer finish.

I've included the 3-D rendering in the slideshow.

Circle Orboros Box

This was my first completed woodworking project ever!  I made this box to hold all of my widgets, tokens, dice, etc.  I had just come into some black walnut and was all too excited to build something with it.  I used 7/8" stock, lined the bottom with black leather, and created a weathered Circle Orboros symbol using a stencil printed on a Silhouette Cameo.  I used brass chain and eye hooks to create a lid-stop, so that it stays open independently.  The box features finger joints that have ebony plugs as an accent feature.  It is incredibly heavy due to the thickness of the stock (I didn't have a planer at the time I built this), but I still like it.  I love bringing it along to tournaments.

Painting Station

This modular painting station is made from 3/4" and 1/2" MDF.  I wanted something that I could make cheaply and quickly, and this fit the bill.  It may not be pretty or elegant, but it does its job and does it well.  This station features three parts that are each completely modular, making setting up my painting area and tearing it down a quick and easy affair.  There are 60 total slots.  I plan on making a second station, with some modifications, for my Vallejo paints.

I've included the 3-D model of this project in the slideshow.
